busybusybusy ;o)

We've been super busy the last week or so ... my niece & her family here to set up their September move, then off to MI to celebrate the grandkids' birthdays. LOTS of fun but lots of time away from stitching, the computer, etc.

I've been doing some stitching - mostly vintage type and some crocheting, since they travel well. Will get pictures in the next day or two. In the meantime, I thought I'd share a bit of my lunch with you. ;o) These are radishes from our garden, picked just last evening. I had to harvest this particular spot as something (a bunny? the mole?) apparently likes nibbling the greens AND the tops of the radishes. I'm also dining on lasagna, made by T yesterday - that has zucchini from our garden in it. Major YUM!!

it's not the best picture (hmmm ... i keep saying that! *lol*) but here's my first finish putting fabric around the stitched piece as well as behind it, as a mini-pillow. I didn't tweak my corners, so they won't fill out - but, it works. I'm going to attach cording or something to make it into a hanging piece, but for now ... it's done.

One more week ....

and my wonderful niece, her husband & their baby will be here. YEA!!! Cannot wait to give that little boy LOTS of lovin'!! A's been sending me pictures with her phone's camera ... he's changing so much, so quickly. The few days they're here won't be enough but they'll be far better than nothing.

Then, the day after they leave, we're heading to MI to T's grandchildren's combined birthday party. It'll be a whirlwind trip but it'll be fun. Can't wait to see those little darlings, too!

Then we're home ... one weekend? ... and I'm doing an overnighter in Pittsburgh with friends. Stashing, stitching, maybe some sleeping! ;o)

Gotta love summer & traveling!!

Ornament finish

Phew! I did it! Finished my exchange piece - though I'm not 100% sure I want to keep the crocheted edging finish. I'm thinking a ruched ribbon might look better - decisions, decisions. I've got a few days to think about it so I'll see what ribbons I've got on hand & go from there. I need to make a hanger, regardless, and know I want ribbon for that.

She's a grand old flag, she's a high flying flag ...

another fuzzy picture ... that's what i get for taking it while not having my glasses on! :o)

this has been my week's stitching - heart in hand's 'grand old flag'. i stitched it over-one so the button she shows with the finish wouldn't begin to work on mine - obviously, i switched the button to a small star.

i've got my victoria's sampler that i'm working on as well but ... i'm in a 'small' mood, so i'll probably find something different to stitch next.

thank you to all who leave comments here ... i very much appreciate it!

A little more...

Yep, I needed even more fabric .... I love these bundles!

Ever-growing fabric stash

While in Berlin, fondling fabrics, Renee & I fell in love with this "mail bag" ... so of course, I offered to make one for her & me. *smacks head* What was I thinking? Like I don't already have enough to do? *lol* The first stash is for me, which the Moda "laundry day" fabric I love for the liner. The other, with the blue lining fabric, is Renee's .. Now let's see how long it takes me to do these.

The patterns, ribbon & fabric are things Kelli picked out yesterday at Joann's. The fabric is to make the jumper/sundress ... Kelli & Mom will work on these together. Kel's told a friend of hers about this purchase, so Chels may come over to play with them.

Almost ready

Well, that's not totally true ... *lol* The first is done - I FINALLY framed LHN's Where There is Life & hung it. 'Bout time!

This is the "almost ready" part .. Lilian's going to finish my LHN Quilt Time into a totebag, as she did for her SIL. Renee, Rita & Lauren - and the Country Craft employee - helped me pick out the fabric when we were in Berlin. The fabric to the right is for the liner - the others are for the log cabin-style finish Lilian's doing. I'm laundering the fabrics today, then off it will all be to Holland.
